Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has introduced an expansion of its Crystallus services, specifically designed to support SAP's strategic focus on artificial intelligence. These new services aim to expedite digital transformation initiatives and the deployment of AI-enabled enterprise software for a diverse range of industries.
The Crystallus offerings from TCS utilize preconfigured industry solutions, deep SAP expertise, and multi-vendor integration capabilities. This approach is intended to significantly reduce the time and effort involved in design, testing, and rework during customer implementations.
According to Vikram Karakoti, global head of TCS's enterprise solution unit, SAP represents the largest portfolio within his unit, with approximately 30,000 out of 55,000 employees dedicated to SAP technology. He emphasized that while SAP often dominates the business layer, modern transformation programs typically involve numerous surrounding applications and ERPs, necessitating a unified approach.
Karakoti highlighted that AI is already being used for 50% to 60% of testing and coding in design validation, leading to substantial savings by reducing rework. He also noted that TCS will play a significant role in SAP's agentic AI strategy, which is built on the core foundation of SAP S/4HANA and SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP), alongside data partnerships with companies like Databricks and Snowflake.
With Crystallus, TCS aims to build multi-vendor AI solutions more rapidly, providing a unified experience for customers as enterprise architectures evolve with the increasing prominence of cloud and AI technologies.
